TRAINING BY FRANCESCA | DOG BEHAVIOURIST & TRAINER

1.0 TERMS OF AGREEMENT

This Agreement is between “Client” and “Trainer” Training By Francesca.

2.0 SERVICES

2.1​ Clients must agree to the following terms to participate:

2.2​ Training sessions involve both owner and dog, but may occasionally ​require 1:1 training between Trainer and your dog.

2.3 Clients must follow instructions; repeated interruptions​ or disagreeing with Trainer in session may ​result in early finalisation of training. 

2.4​ If you are found to be using the services of another Trainer ​or taking part in alternative Training classes while involved with Training By Francesca, this would be considered a conflict of interest and may​ result in the termination of training.

2.5 Puppy training packages ​are considered credit and must be used across 6 months - there is no expectation that you should have weekly sessions. Puppy sessions can be used at any point and in truth it can be better to spread them out. If required, you can request an extension to further the 6 months. ​

2.6 A​ll behavioural training ​must be used in a 3-month ​timeframe, and weekly sessions are recommended.

2.7 Flexi leads are not​ permitted;​ all dogs must wear a well-fitted collar with ID tags and may wear a harness. ​All collars and harnesses must be appropriately fitted, Training By Francesca is not responsible if your dogs collar or harness becomes loose or falls off.

2.8​ Sessions ​will be postponed if the dog is in pain​, unwell or not fit for training.​

 

3.0 OWNER COMMITMENT

3.1​ Clients must engage fully, avoiding distractions ​such as phone calls or texts during sessions.

3.2 Training and rehabilitation take time; ​there are no "quick fixes​", and clients should not expect drastic change in one session.

3.3 Suggestions of other training methods are accepted; however, if they continue to be pushed, then there may be a conversation to discuss if the collaboration between Training By Francesca and yourself is the right fit.

3.4 Francesca asks clients to commit to a minimum of three sessions as this is best for their dog and the overall success of training. 

3.4 ​If you are unsure or confused by any material discussed in the session, it is your responsibility to discuss this in real time. Training BY VFRancesc is not responsible for confusion in weeks following a session, which may lead to training being incorrectly taught to your dog.

3.5 Clients accept​ that ​the use of slip leads​ and vibration collars (not shock) may be part of their training- as this is part of the balanced training methodology. ​I do not use prong collars or shock collars.

3.6 The trainer is not liable for regressions if clients use alternative methods.​

 

4.0 PAYMENT

4.1 Payment is due upfront to any session by bank transfer, and sessions are not confirmed until payment is received and time slot remains open for booking.

4.2​ Clients are responsible for being on time; late arrivals over 15 minutes may result in rescheduling.

4.3​ Training sessions are non-refundable once begun, with exceptions for serious illness or injury.

 

5.0 CANCELLATION POLICY**

5.1 Cancellations within 48 hours incur a full session fee; exceptions will be handled individually.

5.2 A cancellation is also defined as not attending at the original booked time and place.

5.3 More than three cancellations or reschedules without notice may lead to refusal of further sessions.

5.4 Only one cancellation per client is tolerated, further cancellations will result in a fee.

 

6.0 WEATHER

​6.1 To ensure dog safety, I may reschedule sessions if temperatures exceed 23°C (20°C for brachycephalic breeds).

7.0 LIABILITY

7.1 Training By Francesca aims to improve behaviours but cannot guarantee specific results regarding a dog’s mental health or behaviour.

 

8.0 CHILDREN & OTHER DOGS

Children are welcome but should not disrupt training; consult Francesca first. No other dogs may attend sessions due to safety risks.

9.0 SAFETY

Aggressive dogs must be muzzled during sessions. Report any aggression issues or bites before the session, and take necessary safety precautions during one-on-one sessions.

10.0 COMMUNICATION

Basic training will only be provided outside of sessions. Communication should be via email only; text messages will not be answered.

 

11.0 MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA

Francesca may use photos and videos taken during sessions on her website or social media. By entering this contract, you agree to this use.

 

12.0 TERMINATION OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Francesca may terminate services immediately for any breach of terms. Disrupting training or using another trainer will also result in termination.

 

13.0 CHANGES TO TERMS & CONDITIONS

Francesca reserves the right to change terms, with clients notified at least 30 days before new terms take effect.
