TRAINING BY FRANCESCA | DOG BEHAVIOURIST & TRAINER

1.0 TERMS OF AGREEMENT
This Agreement is between “Client” and “Trainer” Training By Francesca.

2.0 SERVICES
2.1​ Clients must agree to the following terms to participate:
2.2 Training sessions involve both the owner and the dog. The first session is a 1:1 session with only the Trainer and your Dog, and the Owner agrees to this by acknowledging these terms. The purpose of this is to accurately determine how many of the issues being faced are your dog's internal issues and exposure to the owner's anxieties and concerns.
2.3 Clients must follow instructions; repeated interruptions​ with the Trainer or attempts to disagree with training methods in session may ​result in training being halted and concluded early.
2.4​. If you are found to be using the services of another Trainer ​or taking part in alternative Training classes while involved with Training By Francesca, this would be considered a conflict of interest and will result in the termination of training.
2.5. All behavioural sessions are 1 hour. If additional time is required, you will be informed by email prior to the session.
2.6. Puppy training packages ​are considered credit and must be used across 6 months - there is no expectation that you should have weekly sessions. Puppy sessions can be used at any point, and in truth, it can be better to spread them out. If required, you can request an extension to further than 6 months. ​
2.7. All behavioural training ​must be used in a 3-month ​timeframe, and weekly sessions are recommended.
2.8. Standard training treats, including liver bites, chicken, cheddar cheese and sausage, are used for training sessions. If your dog is allergic (or intolerant) to any of these foods, then it is your responsibility to make your trainer aware. Failure to do so excludes trainer liability.
2.9. Flexi leads are not​ permitted;​ all dogs must wear a well-fitted collar with ID tags in session. ​All collars and harnesses must be appropriately fitted. Training By Francesca is not responsible if your dog's collar or harness becomes loose or falls off.

3.0 OWNER COMMITMENT
3.1​ Clients must engage fully and should not be on their phones (calls or texts) during sessions.
3.2 Training and rehabilitation take time; ​I do not provide "quick fixes​", and clients must commit to at least 3 sessions before they expect reasonable changes from their dog.
3.3 Suggestions of other training methods are accepted but must be discussed outside of the session, and if not agreed to but are continued to be pushed, there may be a conversation to discuss if the collaboration between you and Training By Francesca is the right fit.
3.4 Francesca asks clients to commit to a minimum of three sessions, as this is best for their dog and the overall success of training.
3.4 ​If you are unsure of any of the material discussed in the session, it is your responsibility to discuss this in real time. Training by Francesca is not responsible for confusion in the weeks following a session, which may lead to training being incorrectly taught to your dog.
3.5 Clients accept​ that ​the use of slip leads​ and vibration collars (these are not shock collars) may be part of their training, as this is part of the balanced training methodology.
3.6 The trainer is not liable for regressions if the client chooses to use alternative methods without discussion with the owner, and training outside of the session is not taken seriously and completed.
3.7 ​Sessions ​will be postponed if the dog is in pain​, unwell or not fit for training.​
3.8 Training By Francesca cannot be held liable for allergies / intolerances if the required insurance information sheet is not filled out and handed back to Francesca.
4.0 PAYMENT
4.1 Sessions are not booked until they are paid for. Sessions can only be paid by bank transfer, and sessions are not confirmed until payment is received and the client has received a booking confirmation.
4.2​ Clients are responsible for being on time; late arrivals (over 15 minutes) will result in rescheduling.
4.3​ Training sessions are non-refundable once commenced, except in instances of serious illness or injury to the dog. To process a refund request, a veterinary report is required to ensure compliance with insurance and legal standards.
5.0 CANCELLATION POLICY
5.1 Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled session will be charged the full session fee. Exceptions to this policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
5.2 As mentioned earlier, if a client arrives after 15 minutes into a session, this is defined as a session to be rebooked and so would incur the full session fee.
5.3 More than three cancellations or instances of rescheduling will result in the termination of sessions.
5.4 Only one cancellation per client is tolerated; further cancellations will result in a fee.
6.0 WEATHER
​6.1 To ensure dog safety, all outdoor sessions will need to be rescheduled if temperatures exceed 23°C (20°C for brachycephalic breeds). Additionally, if there is heavy rain, this can highly impact your dog's concentration and focus, and training will need to be rescheduled.

7.0 LIABILITY
7.1 Training By Francesca aims to improve behaviours but does not, and cannot, guarantee specific results.
8.0 CHILDREN & OTHER DOGS
Children are welcome in sessions, however this must be discussed prior to training and they must not disrupt training.

9.0 SAFETY
Aggressive dogs are required to be either muzzled (if trained) or on a short lead during sessions, and full responsibility is taken by owners to ensure the safety of all in session. Owners are required by legal and insurance reasons to report any aggression or bite history before sessions begin.

10.0 COMMUNICATION
Basic training will only be provided outside of sessions. Communication should be via email only; text messages will not be answered.
11.0 MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA
Francesca may use photos and videos taken during sessions on her website or social media. By entering this contract, you agree to this use.
12.0 TERMINATION OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Francesca may terminate services immediately for any breach of terms. Disrupting training or using another trainer will also result in termination.
13.0 CHANGES TO TERMS & CONDITIONS
Francesca reserves the right to change terms, with clients notified at least 30 days before new terms take effect.
