Challenging behaviour rarely has a single cause or an instant solution. My approach is to understand what may be driving your dog’s behaviour before creating a practical, personalised training plan that works within your everyday life.
Some concerns, particularly reactivity, aggression, resource guarding and fear-based behaviour, can take time to improve. The number and frequency of sessions required will depend on your dog’s individual needs, history and response to training. I will support you throughout the process, helping you understand your dog more clearly and giving you the confidence and practical tools to make lasting progress.
When working with particularly fearful or nervous dogs, I may occasionally recommend spending a short amount of time observing or working with your dog independently. This can help me assess their behaviour without the influence of familiar relationships or routines. Any such approach will always be discussed with you beforehand, and you will be fully guided through how to continue the work yourself.
All behavioural training begins with a one-hour, in-home behavioural assessment. Meeting your dog in their familiar environment allows me to gain a clearer understanding of their temperament, daily routine, home setup and interactions with you. We will also discuss their history, the training you have already tried and the changes you would most like to achieve.
Following the assessment, you will have a clearer understanding of your dog’s behaviour and a personalised plan for moving forward. There is no obligation to continue with further training, but if you decide to do so, we will already have a clear and structured approach in place.
If you would like support in creating a calmer, happier and more manageable life with your dog, please get in touch to arrange your behavioural assessment.
One-hour in-home behavioural assessment: £95.00
