ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Fran! I'm a Dog Trainer & Behavioural expert with over 11 years (wonderful) years of dog training.
I can safely say I couldn't ask for a better and more rewarding job, and I feel honoured to get to go to work every day with dogs and fantastic people. I have now had the absolute pleasure of training thousands of dogs, and around 35 - 40 a week. I specialise in Gundogs, mainly Working Cocker Spaniels, Springers, and Retrievers and Labradors. However, no breed of dog is outside of my remit and I have trained over 150 breeds, including Dachshunds, Poodle mixes, Staffies, Whippets, Terriers, Bully breeds and many toy breeds including chihuahuas, Shitz Zu, Yorkies and more.
My goal as a Trainer is to help you unlock your true potential with your dog and bring the best out of your relationship. I want to open up all of the possibilities to your relationship and help you find a happier, calmer life together. At the heart of my work its building connections with my clients and quickly uncovering the troubles you've been experiencing and getting to the core of the problem. My mission is to help you enjoy a richer, calmer, and more delightful life with your furry friend. As your trainer, I aim to make your journey with your dog not just happy but also healthy and manageable. I’m excited to teach you the essential skills to understand what makes your dog unique (as every breed and dog is completely different). While change can sometimes be challenging, I believe wholeheartedly in the saying, "We can't expect to have change, if we ourselves aren't willing to change!"
I have a simple philosophy when it comes to Dog Training: anything important in life requires our love, patience and commitment, and that applies to our dogs.
Modern-day dog ownership has taught us that simply purchasing or adopting a dog is the end of the journey to the discovery of that relationship, and we are effectively 'done' once we teach them 'sit', 'lie down' and 'rollover'. This sadly couldn't be more untrue, and in fact, we should immediately question the use of these commands if not used effectively and consistently, and for what purpose? The key is understanding that everything we teach our dogs should come from a place of leadership and a place of true kinship. Commands mean very little if they don't have value or a consistent place daily in our lives with our dogs.
Training should be a supremely exciting and enjoyable experience for both our dogs and us! Sometimes, training feels overwhelming—often because we wait a bit too long to start—but that's where I come in! I'm here to help tackle any challenges you might face with your dog and really dig into what's happening and why. Life with our furry companions should be fun and peaceful, but the hustle and bustle of everyday life can sometimes feel like it’s all slipping out of control. This can lead to some unwanted habits and boundaries that need a little tuning. Without our guidance and training, our dogs might develop quirky habits or boring routines that disrupt both their lives and ours.
A common question I hear is, "Is training my dog necessary?" And my answer? Absolutely! Our dogs, much like children, deserve our time, education, and support. Plus, we benefit from understanding what makes our dogs tick! The more you train with your dog, the more you learn about it, and then your bond increases simultaneously.
Dogs are incredibly perceptive and can sense our emotions much more than we realise. That’s why working with an expert can make a big difference. I’m eager to help you see how you influence your dog's behaviour and craft a helpful training plan together. Training can be an exciting journey, and finding the right partner to support you is essential! Together, we can create a happier, healthier bond with your furry friend. Our relationship with our dogs is a precious gift that should be cherished and nurtured.
Without question, love is one of the most important fundamentals to our dogs training; however this is commonly mistaken by affection, which is the first mistake in training. An example of truly loving your dog is understanding what they need, what their breed - and I truly believe it is helping them through tricky and difficult situations knowing how to lead them through life in a calm and assertive fashion. I want to teach you how to love your dog through training them, showing you that love has many different forms.
I want to unlock both your and your dogs true potential!

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY...

KAYA
"We cannot recommend Francesca highly enough. She is a first class trainer with a true passion for her work. Our one year old retriever adores her and we have learnt so much from her calm and insightful approach. Moreover, we have also used the first class dog sitting for two holidays; what a difference it makes to know your dog is also having a wonderful time and being cared for so brilliantly! A real 'dog whisperer', don't hesitate to use her services!"

RIVER
"Francesca has been amazing! A really nice balance between being friendly and approachable but also professional with expert knowledge. She knows her stuff! Initially, we had to take a few steps back before moving forward and seeing a change in our dog's behaviour but Francesca supported us every step of the way."

NELLIE
"I have absolutely loved my sessions with Francesca. I reached out when I was pregnant to try and get a handle on my excitable Springador before the baby came along and she was wonderful. Francesca helped me understand my dog’s behaviour and gave me some really simple techniques to tackle our issues. She is exceptionally warm and kind and importantly, her tips do the trick! Thanks so much Francesca"
