What happens
in the Consultation?
Whether you’re welcoming a new puppy, navigating adolescence or seeking help with your adult dog’s behaviour, this consultation is the first step towards understanding their needs and finding the right support.
It gives us time to discuss the challenges you’re facing, explore your dog’s daily life and establish what you would like to achieve through training.
During the assessment, we will discuss:

Your dog’s personality and behaviour. Their individual quirks, confidence, habits and how they respond to everyday situations, people and other dogs.

Their history and experiences. Their background, how long they have been with you and any changes or experiences that may be relevant to their behaviour.

Your daily routine together. Your home and work setup, including their sleep, exercise, feeding, play and time spent alone. This helps me recommend training that fits realistically into your life.

The behaviours you would like help with. From puppy biting and toilet training to lead pulling, reactivity, difficulty settling or concerns about being left alone, we’ll explore what happens, when and in which situations.

Any training you have already tried. What has helped, what has felt challenging and where you would benefit from clearer guidance.

Your main training goals. What you would like to change and what would make everyday life with your dog calmer, more manageable and more enjoyable.
What is the aim of the assessment?
The aim is to build a clear understanding of your dog, your circumstances and the support you need. This allows me to identify the priorities, discuss realistic expectations and recommend the most appropriate next steps for you both.
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and understand how I work before deciding whether to continue with training.
